The following would be welcome improvements to the OE module within ESS.
Allow employees to select their life insurance amounts from a drop down menu. You enter the amounts they can elect in setup but a drop down is not an option, rather they have to enter amounts manually (which begs the question as to why you have to enter amounts at all). This is confusing as they often don't read (i.e. can elect increments of $10,000 up to $XX,XXX) and enter incorrect amounts which results in HR teams having to reject their OE enrollment requests and a re-entry to get to the correct amounts.
Additional logic would be welcome for benefits. For example, you may prohibit enrollment in a FSA if they don't elect medical coverage but you cannot set an AD&D benefit to be equal to a Life Insurance election amount. Having additional contingency logic would streamline the enrollment process.
It would be nice if changes could happen concurrently with OE occurring. It is a hindrance to not be able to process life events during OE as we must track manual contributions in the interim or charge them an incorrect amount as they must be pended until OE changes are pushed through. As most OEs are held a month+ prior to the effective date to ensure timely carrier updates it is prohibitive to have to track this and results in E&O at times.
